FAQ

Missouri Care understands that having the right information will help you and your staff better manage day-to-day tasks. Can't find what you need here? The Provider Resource Guide contains a variety of detailed information. You may also contact us online for assistance or call 1-800-322-6027 and select option 4 for provider services.

What is a Provider ID?
Your Provider ID is a unique number and the main identifier for business interactions with WellCare. Primary Care Physicians are given a unique ID for each practice location. Specialists receive a single ID number.

Additionally, your Provider ID is required to register for our secure Provider Web Portal. Customer Service will request it anytime you call us for information.

How do I get my Provider ID?
Please contact Customer Service at 1-800-322-6027 and select option 4 for provider services. You will need to have your NPI or Tax ID number and we'll be able to look up your Provider ID.

Does WellCare use the DCN as the member number?
No, WellCare uses a separate ID number for members. However, WellCare can verify member status using the DCN (Medicaid) if a member does not have their WellCare-issued ID number available.

What if a member doesn't have their DCN number?
You can locate a member's DCN by accessing the MO HealthNet Web Portal. You will need the member's name and date of birth.

What does a Member ID card look like?
View a sample PDF of the Member ID card.

How do I access information for claims after May 1, 2013?
For services dated on or after May 1, 2013, please register for our new Missouri Care Provider Portal, then login to submit claims and check claims status. You may also call 1-800-322-6027 and select option 4 for provider services.
